World of Warcraft: Shadowlands is coming soon. This expansion will bring many changes to the game. After years of expansions, finally, there will be crucial changes to the leveling system. 120 level players will drop to 50 and the level cap will be 60 once again. When we are taking a look at the beta of the game we can see that the story of the Shadowlands expansion is an interesting one. Players will travel to the afterlife with this expansion. One of the upcoming changes will be the addition of covenants. In Shadowlands there will be 4 Covenants and players will need to choose one of them in order to advance in the storyline. First of all, just like most of the expansions players will need to discover these covenants and in order to do that, you will need to start the storyline. Four regions are waiting for you these regions are,
After you are done with the story you will choose one of the covenants. Each covenant will give you specific signature ability and class combat abilities. There will also be specific mounts for you from each covenant.
Now, what are these covenants?
Kyrian’s are the transporters of souls between the realms. These guys are the equivalent of Charon from Greek Mythology. For Kyrian’s life is about humility, righteousness, service, and virtue. Kyrian Covenant’s base is the Bastion region. The notable characters who choose this covenant are Uther Lightbringer, who was chopped up by his son Arthas, who later became the Lich King.
Of course, there is a nice bonus of joining the covenants, for Kyrian’s this is Summon Steward ability. This ability will allow you to remove all Curse, Disease, Poison, and Bleed Effects, also it will generate some of your health back.
Brrr, even the name of the Necrolords is cool. These guys settled in the Maldraxxus region and they are known as the soldiers of the afterlife. They value strength and power above everything else. Do not expect to find deep thinkers and philosophers among their ranks. The notable character who chose this covenant is Draka, the mother of Thrall. You know Thrall who was a war chief and later turned into a deep thinker.
Necrolord’s special ability is Fleshcraft. This ability will allow you to create a shield around you for 2 minutes and if you can cast it next to a dead body it will create a stronger shield. Their stronghold is called The Seat of Primus.
Night Fae’s reside in Ardenweald. These horned creatures are the guardians of nature. They value the life and death cycle and nature. Well, when we say nature, of course, the first one we thought of are Druids. However, they are not the only ones who can benefit from this covenant. Ardenweald is known as the mirror of the Emerald Dream.
Their signature ability is Soulshape. This ability grants you the ability to teleport, yes you heard it right you can teleport. You will turn into a Vulpin and teleport forward, sounds useful in tricky situations. Heart of the Forest is their seat.
Well, an afterlife without demons is never heard of, although Venthry are not demons. They are the Punishers of the Unworthy. Venthyr punishes people for their sins basically. Remember the guy who betrayed Illidan to Burning Legion, well Kael’thas Sunstrider is the notable character in this covenant.
Their signature ability is called Door of Shadows, which seems like another teleport ability but with a bigger radius. Their sanctum is called appropriately, Sinfall. Venthry will be an interesting choice for players since their armor looks badass, unlike Night Fae.
