The MMORPG world has lots of themes. This game genre is all about depicting worlds and immersing players in it. Over the last decade, Medieval and Sci-Fi themed MMO’s became popular. But today Anime themed MMO’s are making a comeback. We saw Genshin Impact and now we have Blue Protocol coming. Currently, Blue Protocol is in development and the developers are none other than Bandai Namco. Until recently we all thought that the game is going to available only to the Japanese market however, they hired a localization director to their ranks. This means that the game will be available for the international market and there are also no region locks during the beta. But because of Covid-19, the beta was delayed.
Currently, Blue Protocol is done with closed beta and the open beta will follow soon afterward. The game will accept 50000 beta applications. The number might change since many players are looking forward to play Blue Protocol.
So What is Blue Protocol? Blue Protocol is an anime-themed MMORPG. The game does not have an open world there are zones for leveling and a huge city for players to mingle. You can enter 6 player dungeons with your friends right away. The game as we have said before does not have an open world, but it does look gorgeous. Honestly, the game’s art style is a unique one and it resembles old anime’s a bit. The artwork and the movements of the characters are very much in sync and it does look very fluid.
There are 4 classes in Blue Protocol. The names of the classes are a direct translation from Japanese and subject to change. The first class is called Aegis Fighter, they can use shields as a defensive weapon. They do look like tanks in the game. Twin Striker is another class, they excel at DPS and can dual wield weapons. Blast Archer the first ranged DPS class in the game. There are weak spots on the creatures which you can exploit as a Blast Archer. Finally, we have Spellcasters, they can use fire, ice, and lightning as their power and attack from range.
Character Customization at Blue Protocol is also another feature. Players will be able to create their own characters from eye shape to body build. Also, the zones in the game are very uniquely designed. You simply walk over a line and there is a very fast loading screen and you will be moving through zones. The loading screens are so short that it honestly feels like an open-world game. There are mounts in the game so this can give you an idea of how big the zones are. The game also features a day and night cycle.
Blue Protocol’s story is expected to be an amazing one. The number of cutscenes will be a lot, most probably to immerse the players into the world. The UI of the game does look very clean and players will not be seeing thousands of tabs open on their screen. Generally, you will only see the related info on whatever you are doing. Blue Protocol release date is currently unknown, but we can expect Q4 2020 release or early 2021.
